Executive Director
Elizabeth Carlock Phillips is the social entrepreneur and millennial philanthropist at the helm of Phillips Philanthropies, which includes serving as Executive Director of the Phillips Foundation. She graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with degrees in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs and French. Elizabeth founded a jewelry business in high school that became her career for seven years and led her to Uganda, where she was founding designer of Akola, the first full-impact brand in the luxury space, and to Peru, where she consulted for a fair-trade company providing women with economic opportunity.

Since 2013, she has led the Phillips Foundation’s implementation of game-changer grants that “move the dial” in Guilford County, NC; developed the Foundation’s 100% values-alignment strategy across its full corpus; and launched the Impact Investing Think Tank as well as, more recently, the Healthy Relationships Initiative (HRI). In 2017, Elizabeth co-founded GEMS BY THE FOOT™, an e-commerce jewelry brand that is “Made to Order, Beyond Borders™,” benefiting refugee women and their families resettling in North Texas through the IRC Dallas.

Elizabeth serves as a Governor-appointed Trustee of UNC Greensboro and on the boards of directors for Women Moving Millions, Say Yes to Education, and Dallas Women’s Foundation, along with several other affiliations. Elizabeth has appeared in featured stories on broadcast news and in a variety of publications, including The Financial TimesBarron's, Bloomberg, Dallas Morning News, and as a recipient of Triad Business Journal’s “Women in Business” award. Elizabeth and her husband Kevin are cofounders of The ImPact and principals of Phillips Enterprises. They enjoy life with their growing family in Dallas, Texas, and Greensboro, North Carolina.
